Frida Kahlo is one of the most famous and acclaimed Mexican painters of all time.
She claimed she was born in 1910 because she felt like the daughter of that year's Mexican revolution and modern Mexico.
With her short and complicated, although eventful life, Frida Kahlo proved once again that courage is all there is, thus representing an icon of feminine creativity and courage.

The world is one family

"What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever, happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected.

Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons of the earth.

You must teach you children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of our grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children what we have taught our children, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons of the earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves. This we know. The earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself."

Ted Perry, "Chief Seattle's Speech"

We should start to see the world from a holistic point of view, considering Earth as a complex system rather than a set of separate parts.
We need to learn a deep ecological awareness to tell the interdipendence of all phenomena that we can observe, since all of us, as individuals and as a society, have an influence on  cyclical natural processes.

Human being should not be considered above nature, but as a part of the whole.
All humans beings are part of an ecological community connected to each other via a web-like relationship of interdipendence.
When this deep ecological perception becomes part of our everyday awareness, it appears to us as a radically new ethical system. Our self is one single thing with nature (they are one and the same thing).

It is necessary to imagine our planet as a one big community, like what is described in india as "Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (the world is one family), rather than seeing the world in terms of profits and possession

BUT AT THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA"

I don’t like work – no man does –
but I like what is in the work:
the chance to find yourself.
Your own reality – for yourself,
not for others – what no other
man can ever know.

Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness (1924)

We live in a world where everything has a price and it all becomes mercatable.
Since globalization is devouring that bit of humanity that still remains to us,
We must not forget that we are human.
